We're in the home-stretch! Here's what's happening in April.

Dear Leroy Families,
Welcome to Spring! We hope that you and your family had a restful and rejuvenating spring break. We can’t believe we have less than two months left of this school year. With these remaining days, we will continue to push and challenge students’ thinking and learning as we prepare them with the skills and content they will need to begin the next grade level successfully.
I want to congratulate our third, fourth, and fifth graders for continuing to put forth an outstanding effort on CMAS (PARCC) assessments. We are so proud of their determination, focus, commitment, and positive attitude toward doing their very best. We want to thank all intermediate families for ensuring that their children come to school well rested and prepared for these important state assessments. We also want to thank our younger students and primary level teachers who rally behind these older students and show in so many ways their belief in their academic abilities! Beginning the week of April 16th, our fourth graders will take social studies CMAS and fifth graders will take science CMAS (PARCC) assessments. We know they will do well!
The Major Saver Assembly Kick Off was Thursday, April 5th! The fundraiser will run through Monday, April 16th. The card sells for $15.00 and features 20 local businesses offering great values for families. Please consider purchasing a Major Saver card from a Leroy student. The proceeds from these sales will benefit the Five Star Education Foundation and our school.
Finally, we look forward to seeing everyone on May 17th from 5:00 – 7:00 pm to celebrate our learning as successful life-long learners and responsible global citizens as we host a special PYP Night for all our students and families. As an IB School, we are excited to have this night for each grade level team and specials teachers to showcase our students’ learning and work accomplished this year through our different Units of Inquiry. In addition, our 5th graders will be presenting their comprehensive Exhibition projects as a culmination of their years spent as IB students in the Primary Years Program. Please look for upcoming communication regarding specific locations and details.
Many thanks for your continued support!
