Schools celebrate the completion of bond projects

Less than a year after the community passed the 2024 bond, district leaders and students ushered in the start to the 2025-26 school year by celebrating the first round of bond projects.

At Leroy Elementary and Hunters Glen Elementary, principals cut the ribbons on completely new playground equipment alongside hundreds of students and staff.

This summer, crews replaced the former playgrounds at both schools with new equipment that's designed to improve accessibility and offer play opportunities for elementary school students of all ages and abilities.

During the ribbon cutting ceremonies, school leaders celebrated their projects in conjunction with district and community leaders, as well as their most critical beneficiaries: the students. At each school, hundreds of students cheered as Caitlin Caligiuri and Chris Blados, principals at Leroy Elementary and Hunters Glen Elementary, respectively, snipped the ribbons.

Elsewhere in the district, summer bond work included comprehensive resurfacing projects at Horizon High School and Mountain Range High School, as well as roofing projects at Century Middle School, Coyote Ridge Elementary and Eagleview Elementary.

Last week, students and staff at Prairie Hills Elementary also conducted a ribbon cutting ceremony to mark the completion of their summer bond project. As part of the project, crews installed new doors and hardware in 20 classrooms.

This summer's bond projects are the first of more to come. Over the next five years, all schools across the district will see facility investments that include upgrades to school grounds, building interior and exteriors, school safety and security, IT systems, and more.

See what work is scheduled to be completed next through the interactive timeline on our 2024 bond webpage.
