End of Year Newsletter
Dear Leroy Families,
We hope you are enjoying the first few days of summer with your children. We have been busy preparing for the next school year and wanted to share some updates with you before we depart for a short summer vacation.
Staffing Updates for 2025/2026
Some of our staff are moving on to new adventures and we wish them well on their next adventure and appreciate them for the impact they have had on our Leroy Family!
Kinder - Ms. Nied
- Ms. Nied is moving to New York to pursue a brand new adventure. We have loved having her here for her entire teaching career and know she will do amazing things!
Third Grade - Ms. Haan
- Ms. Haan will be teaching at Prairie Hills Elementary next year and be closer to her home. We thank her for her many years at Leroy!
4th grade - Mrs. Savage
- Mrs. Savage is moving to Montana with her family and will be teaching there. We wish her all the best!
4th grade - Mrs. Brown
- Mrs. Brown has moved and will be working closer to her home teaching first grade. We wish her luck at her new school and in all she has planned for her next adventure and appreciate the many years she has given us at Leroy and how much she has grown over all of her years here!
5th grade - Ms. Krauth
- We wish Ms.Krauth all the best as she moves to a new town and starts a new teaching position. She has been at Leroy since she was just a brand new teacher starting out and we have loved watching her grow!
5th grade - Ms. Bailey
- We wish Ms. Bailey luck in her next position and appreciate all she has done for our students and school!
5th grade - Ms. Wilson
- Ms. Wilson is leaving to pursue her passion for teaching middle school math at STEM Lab. We wish her all the best in her new role!
AN - Ms. Dana
- Ms. Dana will be leaving us to return to Tennyson as an art teacher. We thank her for her many contributions to our school, students, and families!
Social Emotional Learning Specialist - Ms. Shira
- While we are sad to see one of these important positions being eliminated for the 25-26 school year due to budget constraints, we are happy that Ms. Shira will be taking over our intermediate Affective Needs program. Ms. Shira will continue to make a huge impact on our Leroy students and community while serving in this new role!
Assistant Principal - Mr. Corso
- Mr. Corso will be pursuing new opportunities and we thank him for his time at Leroy.
Occupational Therapist - Mrs. Steele
- Mrs. Steele has been assigned to different schools for the upcoming school year but has been such an amazing addition to our team and we will miss her!
District Literacy Partner - Mr. Blackman
- Mr. Blackman’s position was eliminated for the 25-26 school year due to budget constraints. We wish him all the best and thank him for all he has done for Leroy!
Gifted and Talented Advocate - Mrs. Holland
- While we are sad to see this position being eliminated for the 25-26 school year due to budget constraints, we are happy Mrs. Holland will remain with us next year as part of our CLDE team!
Affective Needs ParaEducator - Ms. S
- Ms. S has been part of Leroy for many, many years and has decided to retire. We wish her all the best in her retirement but also look forward to her coming to visit often and subbing when she can!
Health Aide - Ms. Vee
- Ms. Vee has been a wonderful addition to our Leroy team. She will be leaving us to better meet the needs of her family but will always be part of our team.
New additions to the Leroy Family:
Assistant Principal - Joe Chavez
- Joe joins us with 6 years of experience as an Assistant Principal at Ryan Elementary in Boulder Valley School District. He has 24 years of experience as an educator and is passionate about fostering a dynamic and inclusive learning environment.
Kinder - Simone Schweich
- Simone has spent the last year living and teaching in Spain. She is a Colorado native and we are excited for her to join our wonderful kindergarten team!
Third Grade - Jennifer Halac
- Jennifer joins us with over 12 years of experience in a variety of school settings and has a super positive outlook on education and is thrilled to join our Leroy team!
4th grade- Gina Varela
- Mrs. Varela has experience teaching in intermediate and has worked at other schools in our district. We are looking forward to her adding knowledge to our fourth grade team.
5th grade - Jennifer Pitts
- Mrs. Pitts has many years of teaching experience and has been teaching in Adams 12 since 2022. We are excited for her to work with our awesome fifth graders!
5th grade - 2 positions currently vacant
CLDE - Tiffany Skidmore
- Ms. Skidmore has many years of experience teaching and in a variety of settings and positions and we look forward to the impact she will have on our Multilingual Learners.
CLDE - Mrs. Holland
- As Leroy’s former GT (Gifted and Talented) Advocate and a former CLDE teacher, Mrs. Holland has a wealth of experience and we are excited to welcome her to our CLDE team and give her opportunities to continue our GT program.
Affective Needs - Ms. Shira
- Ms. Shira has served as one of our two Social Emotional Learning Specialists and will now be moving into the role of our intermediate Affective Needs teacher. Ms. Shira is wonderful at building strong relationships with students and families and has an extensive background that will be incredibly beneficial to our students, the program, and Leroy as a whole.
Health Aide - Stephanie Maiers
- Stephanie joins us with many years of experience as a Health Aide and will be a wonderful addition to our front office team.
Occupational Therapist - Laura Malsam
- Ms. Malsam will be assigned to Leroy and a handful of other schools but we are so excited to welcome her to our team.
Online Learning Still Available
Is your child running out of ideas for things to do? Do you want some adult free time? No worries! Students can still access educational activities throughout the summer. Please see the link for more information!
Keep your students practicing vital skills throughout the summer so they are better prepared to return in the fall.
Online Check-In for the 2025-2026 school year opens July 14th thru August 7th
The online check-in process is the district's check-in process for all families with returning K-12 students enrolled in any district school. The check-in process is open for the summer from July 11 through August 14. Please watch for district communication and access through your Infinite Campus Parent Portal account.
Please let us know when you would prefer to have our annual Trunk or Treat event using this survey.
We send our best wishes for good health and hope everyone gets outside to enjoy the warm and sunny weather. Please stay tuned to district communication throughout the summer for ongoing updates and changes.
Lastly, we are very excited to announce the construction of our new playground. We can’t wait to welcome students back with a new main playground which is the first wonderful step of our Bond Project. You can find more information about all of the exciting investments to come here.
