Leroy the Lion Mascot

Leroy Elementary

November 2025

Dear Leroy Families and Community,

October was an eventful month! It was full of learning, great conversations about student growth, and lots of meaningful time together. Teachers wrapped up fall assessments and shared helpful updates with families during conferences. They are continuing to adjust their instruction to meet students right where they are and help them keep growing. We reviewed the school performance framework and the Unified Improvement Plan strategies with staff, and shared with families at our Parent Group Meetings.

We will celebrate our next Student of the Month on Friday, November 7th. We will also be recognizing a staff member of the month during this assembly.  If you would like to nominate someone who you have seen to be an exceptional staff member please fill out the online nomination form.

On behalf of the Leroy staff, we’d like to extend a heartfelt thank-you to parents Mayra Valencia, Adriana Melendez, and Treasa Garcia for helping bring our Trunk or Treat tradition back this year!

This fun-filled event—and all the festive decorations—would not have been possible without the hard work and dedication of our Family Liaison, Judy Casas. We also want to thank the many staff members and families who set up, decorated trunks, ran stations, and helped with cleanup. This event truly came together thanks to so many wonderful volunteers!

A special shoutout goes to the student volunteers from Northglenn High School, as well as Northglenn PD and Fred Gentry for their generous candy donations that helped make the evening such a success.

Important Announcements and Reminders

There will be no school for students on Monday, November 3rd  and the week of November 24th-28th  for Thanksgiving Break.

As the weather starts to get colder, please remember to send your children to school with coats, gloves, and hats. If you need any warm weather clothing, please see Judy in the office.

We also ask that you remember to use the Crosswalks when dropping off and picking up your children and follow all posted traffic signs. Our roads tend to get very icy and we want to ensure that everyone stays safe during our colder months. Please also ensure that you are not parking in front of the driveways of our neighbors. We also act that your interactions with other parents and community members model positive and productive communication for students; they are always watching and learning from us!

The vision and hearing screening will take place on Monday, November 10th.  Every student with the exception of  4th grade will be screened.  Please ensure that your students have their glasses with them on this day.

Mill Levy Override

Our district ranks near the bottom – 10 out of 15 – in average teacher salaries compared to nearby districts. A proposed mill levy override (Ballot Issue 5B) would give the district funding to offer competitive pay, allowing the district to better attract and retain talented educators and support staff. Get the facts on 5B.

Leroy Website:  Reminder, our Leroy website is full of helpful and up to date information and can be found at https://leroy.adams12.org/   Along with this communication, our website and Facebook page also have our latest “happenings”, and other regular Leroy updates and celebrations.

Adult Learning Opportunities

Please refer to this list of Adult ESL Classes that are available around the community if you have interested families. Please contact A’ndra Warren with questions about this list andra.n.warren@adams12.org

And as we gear up for the end of this first semester, we will continue to provide your children with high levels of learning, a focus on thinking critically, risk taking in their learning, and finding new ways to push each learner to reach their potential as a student and human.  We want you to feel confident and comfortable each and every day you send your children to Leroy. We encourage you to contact us via phone or email with any questions, ideas, concerns, or compliments. Again, it is an honor and privilege to be part of your children’s elementary school story.

Warm Regards,

Caitlin Caligiuri

Principal

Assistant Principal
