My name is Melissa Leyte. I received my Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees from Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, Alabama. My teaching career began in Alabama where I taught Second Grade. I have been teaching in Adams 12 Five Star School District since 2000. Prior to coming to Adams 12, I taught at a Bi-lingual Primary School in Fort Lupton.
Reading, Children's Literature, Writing and Storytelling are my passions. It is an honor to be able to help students develop a deep love for reading and learning. It is also an honor to teach English Language Learners in the areas of Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening. I have lived overseas as an Exchange Student so I know firsthand what it is like to learn another language.
My husband and I have 3 sons. We enjoy traveling, playing games, reading, hiking in The Rocky Mountain National Park and spending time with family & friends. We also thoroughly enjoy spending time with our Grandson! My husband is from The Netherlands so we also love all things Dutch!
